ALTO, N.M. (July 1, 2025) – Ski Apache is giving outdoor enthusiasts the chance to lock in their winter adventure early with the 2025–26 season pass sale, available now through August 31, 2025. Guests can take advantage of discounted rates while also enjoying the last weeks of summer fun on the mountain.

Season passes are available at reduced rates during the presale window: $450 for adults and children, $400 for seniors ages 55–69, and $200 for seniors 70 and older. Passholders receive unlimited access to Ski Apache’s legendary slopes all winter long, with perks and savings that make the deal even sweeter.

Before the snow falls, visitors can still take in the mountain’s late-summer activities. Visitors can take in sweeping views of the Sierra Blanca Mountains aboard the scenic gondola ($40 for adults; $30 for seniors, military, and children; free for children 5 and under; $20 for seniors 70+). Guests can also explore hiking and mountain biking trails, zipline adventures, and disc golf before the mountain transitions into ski season.

The fun doesn’t stop at Ski Apache. Just down the road, Inn of the Mountain Gods is hosting its annual End of Summer Bash to close out the summer in style on Sunday, Aug. 31.The biggest farewell party of the season kicks off at noon on the Inn’s lawn with live music, food and family fun, capped by a breathtaking fireworks and drone show over Lake Mescalero at dusk. This free, family-friendly event offers a variety of concessions, with VIP seating available for purchase.

Opening weekend also marks the return of Party on the Mountain, a free family-friendly event packed with food, fun, and live entertainment from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 23–24. Thrill seekers can ride the Apache Wind Rider Zip Tour, while those seeking a more laid-back experience can enjoy live music or take a $25 scenic gondola ride with stunning views of the surrounding Sacramento mountains.

The Ultimate Spring Break Getaway At Ski Apache

Celebrate Spring Break at the Mountain

ALTO, N.M. (March 6, 2024) – Why head to the same crowded beach over spring break when you can shred the slopes at Ski Apache? Join the resort over spring break March 7–18 for 12 straight days of incredible warm-weather skiing. Operations are weather dependent. 

Starting Thursday, March 7 the mountain will be open daily starting at 9 a.m. with lifts and the scenic gondola opening at 9 a.m. Guests can purchase lift tickets at the mountain or at the Ski Apache Ski Shop in Ruidoso. The Ski Apache Ski Shop will be open from 9am to 4pm for ski and snowboard equipment rental and lift tickets. No online or advance sales/reservations are available.

Ski Apache Announces November 29 Opening

With the first snowfall of the year blanketing the mountain, Ski Apache is set to open for the 2019-2020 winter season on Friday, Nov. 29 at 9 a.m.. Whether it’s hitting the slopes or flying down the mountain on the Apache Windrider ZipTour, there’s fun in store for the whole family in time for the holidays.

“We are coming off an epic winter last year and an incredibly fun summer, so we hope to keep that momentum going this season,” said Director of Operations Ken Marlatt. “We’ve got some great events planned and some new additions we couldn’t be more excited to share with the community, including our enhanced snow making capabilities that will help fill in some more edges when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate.”

Annual Torchlight Parade Returns to Ski Apache

Ski Apache is capping off the year with one of its most popular, free events of the winter season. The 12th annual Torchlight Parade will take place at the resort on Monday, Dec. 30 starting at 1 p.m.

Throughout the afternoon guests can enjoy live music, fry bread and hot cocoa on the patio of the Main Lodge. Then at dusk, the traditional Torchlight Parade begins. Torch bearing skiers will glide down the face of Capitan to the rhythm of a traditional Apache drum circle, leaving a trail of light behind them.

“The torchlight parade is one of our most beloved community traditions and we are excited to bring it back to the mountain this year,” said Ken Marlatt, director of operations at Ski Apache. Ski Apache Transitioning to Spring Operations

New Mexico Ski Resort closing for winter season after March 31

With the seasons in transition and the weather quickly warming, Ski Apache will be ceasing winter operations and making the switch to its spring schedule after Sunday, March 31.

Beginning April 1, guests can still enjoy the Apache Wind Rider ZipTour and gondola from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday until the return of summer hours.

“We’re thrilled we were able to see a much longer ski season this year,” said Ken Marlatt, Ski Apache director of operations. “But our base is shrinking and it’s now time to start looking forward to the warming weather and prepping the resort for summer activities.”

Season Passes on Sale at Ski Apache

Starting on Monday, March 18 a limited quantity of season passes will be available for purchase starting at $250, a savings of $550. Once all $250 passes have been sold, another batch of discounted passes will be released at the next price point. Pass prices will continue to rise incrementally through the end of June.

SKI APACHE TO HOST FILM PREMIER OF “ROGUE ELEMENTS” AT SACRED GROUNDS

MESCALERO, N.M. (TBD)—Ski Apache welcomes winter’s return with the premiere of the 2017 Teton Gravity Research film “Rogue Elements” on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at Sacred Grounds Coffee and Tea House. Entry is free for season pass holders.

“Rogue Elements” features a staggering roster of athletes including Angel Collison, Ian McIntosh, the legendary Jeremy Jones, and so many more. The film documents these athletes as they scour the planet in search of the most rugged terrain the world has to offer. Join the Teton Gravity Research team as they embark on an adventure through last season’s unprecedented winter and witness the unimaginable.
