Ski Apache Pushes Opening Date 2017-18
MESCALERO, N.M. (TBD)— Due to unseasonably warm autumn, Ski Apache has pushed their ski season opening date to Dec. 15, instead of Thanksgiving weekend as initially planned. Mountain officials have confirmed that the gondola and Apache Wind Rider Zip Tour will begin operations on Nov. 24 and will be open Thursdays through Sundays.
“While we are expecting colder than usual and above average precipitation this season, we don’t expect to see snow accumulation until late November into December,” said Justin Rowland, director of operations at Ski Apache. “We’ll continue making snow and preparing the mountain for the opening day. In the meantime, we invite people to come to enjoy the incredible views on our gondola and Zip Tour.”
For those looking forward to the upcoming winter season, Ski Apache will be hosting the premiere of the 2017 Teton Gravity Research film “Rogue Elements” on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at Sacred Grounds Coffee and Tea House. Tickets start at $5 and are free for season pass holders. For more information, visit SkiApache.com.
