Who is the Ski Patrol?
Safety is a prime concern of the Ski Apache Ski Area. The Ski Apache National Ski Patrol’s mission is to keep the skiers and snowboarders safe, respond to medical emergencies and provide customer service on the Mountain.
There are 8 full-time and 4 part-time salaried ski patrol personnel and 80 volunteer National Ski Patrol personnel associated with Ski Apache. All salaried personnel are EMT qualified and the National Ski Patrol personnel are Outdoor Emergency Care qualified. Many of the National Ski Patrol personnel are also nurses, paramedics and doctors in their regular careers. Additionally ski patrol members participate in a safety and first aid refresher training course each year.

Skier Safety
Staying safe while skiing and snowboarding at Ski Apache is everyone’s responsibility. Whether you’re a seasoned black diamond rider or just beginning in the sport, safety is an important part of enjoying the Mountain. Preseason Conditioning
Ski and snowboarding can be very strenuous even for the novice. Leaving your desk job and ascending to 9500 feet in altitude to romp in the snow all day may cause exhaustion, pulled muscles and dehydration for the unprepared. Please take the time to read about pre-season conditioning to get the most enjoyment from your Ski Apache experience.
