Ross Anderson
Ross Anderson is enrolled Native American Indian Cheyenne / Arapaho, part Mescalero Apache and with Hispanic origin. He is a professional speed skier with the distinction of being one of the world’s fastest skiers! He currently holds the record as the fastest North American Speed Skier and his record time set in 2006 of 154.06 MPH / 247.93 KPH places his official life time speed for speed skiing as among the top 10 (9th to be exact) in World History.
Ross Anderson has deservedly earned the moniker: "The Fastest skier in North American History.”
In 2001, Ross Anderson made history as the first minority to stand on the podium for an Alpine Sport winning 2nd in the World, Champion De Monde at Les Arcs, France. This event was considered one of the highest achieved marks in the history of speed skiing. Ross has been featured on televised news and human-interest stories on CNN, in national and international magazines such as a Sports Illustrated, New Look French publication, Native Peoples, SCI Italia Magazine, London Times, the French Le Dauphine, and in several local and state publications.
He can be seen in the 1998 / 1999 Warren Miller feature “Free riders”, Euro sport Europe, PBS “Spirit of Colorado”, Japanese Television, Channel 44 Mexico, Fox Sport, ESPN 2, and numerous other international and National broadcasting media. His current feature is the Glencoe McGraw Hill Mathematics book for public schools for middle schools all over North American.
