Fred helps to provide preventive safety measures and first aid at an EMT level if and when needed. We have been lucky enough to have him as a part of our staff for 35 years. Fred believes that the great weather and spectacular views help to set Ski Apache apart from other resorts in the area. And, when he isn’t on the mountain, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, sailing and riding motorcycles.
Tony StevensSnowboard and Summit Sport Shop Manager
Tony loves watching the sunrise during his ride up to Ski Apache. He values that customers continue to return to Ski Apache, even when they have options to board somewhere else. As the Snowboard and Summit Sport Shop Manager, he is in charge of stocking the stores with the latest in ski/snowboarding fashion and equipment. Tony has enjoyed snowboarding ever since he first learned how working at Ski Apache 24 years ago.
Travis CochiseSki Rental Manager
Travis Cochise has 33 years of experience in the ski/snowboarding industry – all of which have been at Ski Apache. The ski rental team provides instructions on how to properly mount and demount bindings and provides customers with the equipment they need to be safe and prepared on the mountain. When Travis isn’t assisting customers or shredding the mountain, he enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and biking.
Justin RowlandDirector of Operations
Justin Rowland has been a part of the Ski Apache team for nine years and counting. He loves the outdoors, the mountains and of course, snow, making him a perfect fit for Ski Apache. As the Director of Operations, Justin’s team takes care of the resort to ensure everyone has the support and assistance to accomplish their duties and make the guest experience unique, fun and memorable.
Rick CunninghamSki/Ride School Manager
The blue skies, fresh air and breathtaking mountain view are just a few of the reasons Rick Cunningham has enjoyed working at Ski Apache for the past two seasons. As the Ski/Ride School Manager, Rick and his team help customers enjoy their experience and help them to feel welcome and prepared for a fun ski lesson. Rick enjoys skiing and has been a level three ski instructor for over 20 years.
Kerlinda ValdezTicket Sales Manager
Five years ago, Kerlinda began working at Ski Apache as a cahier. Since, she has worked her way up to ticket sales manager and works diligently to ensure she and her employees have well-rounded knowledge of the mountain, events and offerings to properly assist customers. The wildlife, her staff and the beautiful scenery are a month her favorite things about working at Ski Apache. Her hobbies include hunting, fishing, sewing and crafting.
Jovian SmithMountain Manager
The beautiful scenery and regular customers are just a couple reasons Jovian loves his job at Ski Apache. A faithful employee for 35 years, he is an integral part of the team and takes pride in providing customers with friendly service to keep them coming back. When Jovian isn’t shredding the mountain he enjoys a good game of golf.
Ron BellEnvironmental Services and Building Maintenance Manager
Ron Bell has 32 years of experience in the ski/snowboarding industry and, luckily enough for us, spent each of those years at Ski Apache. As the leader of the environment service and building crews, Ron works diligently with his staff to maintain the building and assist guests. While he spent much of his life skiing, Ron has officially retired from the sport and enjoys spending time reading and doing woodwork projects.
Gary GravesShop Maintenance/Transportation Manager
Gary’s love for skiing and being outdoors drew him to Ski Apache nearly 35 years ago. As the shop maintenance and transportation manager, Gary works with his team to send a fleet of snowcats out each morning to ensure that guests are skiing on the best-groomed mountain in the west.
Kevin ConradFood and Beverage Manager
Keving Conrad, the food and beverage manager, bring over 15 years of experience to Ski Apache. As such, Conrad and his team ensure guests leave our restaurants happy, having had an enjoyable experience from start to finish. While he loves to ski and snowboard, Conrad enjoys playing guitar, a hobby that is only surpassed by golfing.
