Ski Apache Pond Skim & Bikini Contest & Beach Body (for dudes) Contest The festivities for the day start with the Introduction of Contestants at 12:30. Contestants for both the Bikini Contest and the Pond Skim must be signed up before 12 noon; and they must sign up at the Special Services Booth at the stairs on the Plaza. Contestants will be dressed in appropriate attire – bikinis for the girls and trunks for the guys. All contestants will be wearing snow sports footwear – ski boots or snowboard boots. Before the judging begins, contestants have the choice of making a fun run down the slopes of either Capitan or Easy Street or they can hang out and charm the crowd.
Three judges will be chosen from the audience. When all the contestants are back on the Plaza the contest and judging begins! Contenders will be judged based on crowd response and the corresponding evaluation of the judges. The winner of Bikini Contest is then invited to be a judge in the Pond Skim Jump which should begin right around 1:30. Contestants in the Bikini Contest will be given some time to change into ski attire or a costume worthy of the Pond Skim Jump – if they would like. Winners and everyone in the contests are invited to take part in the Pond Skim Jump!
Then to the wavy shores of the pond skim, the crowd and contestant go. Judges for the skim jump will be representative of some of the pro departments at Ski Apache such as Ski Patrol, Ski School and various guest services. Skim jumpers will be judged based on distance, mid-air form, splash and appearance and costume – before and after they surf and skim the pond.
The awards ceremony is to be held that afternoon on the plaza at 3:30. The Winner of both the Bikini Contest and Beach Body Contest will be adorned with crown a sash and some fun stuff! Winners of the Pond Skim will receive classic medals and other great stuff.
