For your adventurous outdoor spirit, we have fishing at Bonito Lake, Mescalero Lake, Grindstone Lake and the Rio Ruidoso, hiking and mountain biking in the Lincoln National Forest and Sacramento Mountains, horseback riding along historic trails, skiing and snowboarding at Ski Apache and inner tubing at Ruidoso Winter Park.

For the explorer in you, we have incredible historic sites such as Lincoln, New Mexico, Gran Quivera ruins, the Old Dowlin Mill, the Billy the Kid Scenic Byway, Fort Stanton, White Oaks, Three Rivers Petroglyphs and the Mescalero Apache Reservation. A great museum exists in the Museum of the American West in Ruidoso Downs, Mexico, a Smithsonian affiliate and art studios, art galleries and artists studios abound.

A pleasant stroll through Midtown Ruidoso will find many unique gift shops featuring New Mexican jewelry, Western antiques and collectibles, fine art, handmade clothing, couture and much, much more.
